EXPERIENCE SWIMMING WITH THE LARGER PELAGIC SPECIES ON THE SOUTHERN GREAT BARRIER REEF

Experience Swimming with the larger pelagic species on the outer reefs surrounding the Bunker group of islands on the Southern Great Barrier Reef.  Embark on a thrilling snorkel adventure in the pristine waters of the outer reef of Lady Musgrave Island, Fairfax Island and Hoskyn Island. This experience is designed for confident swimmers and experienced snorkelers who are eager to encounter the larger pelagic spies found on the outer reef edges amongst a brilliant array of colourful corals.

Our expert Master Reef Guide or Marine Biologist will lead you through the snorkel session, providing detailed insights on safely interacting with these magnificent marine creatures. With guidance from a professional, you'll have the unique opportunity to explore some of the more remote, less accessible snorkel spots on the outer reef of Lady Musgrave Island and other nearby islands within the Bunker group.

Key Details:

• Difficulty Level: Suitable for fit, confident swimmers with previous snorkelling experience.
• Duration: Full-day adventure from  Bundaberg Port Marina, Burnett Heads, departing at 7:00am and returning at 5:00pm
• Location: Southern Great Barrier Reef - Lady Musgrave Island and surrounding islands.

The Experience:

Your day begins with a relaxing cruise aboard the luxury catamaran Reef Empress, enjoying a delicious morning tea as we head toward the crystal-clear lagoon of Lady Musgrave Island. Upon arrival, enjoy a glass bottom boat tour and guided island tour before enjoying a delicious buffet lunch on the Lady Musgrave HQ pontoon. You will then transfer to our dive vessel, Underworld, which will take you to the surrounding islands and outer reefs, where larger pelagic species and vibrant coral reefs await.

After the Outer Reef Snorkel Safari adventure, you will cruise back toward Bundaberg Port Marina aboard Reef Empress, enjoying a light afternoon tea as you relax and reflect on your unforgettable experience.

Please note -

• Wetsuit hire is not included - please select this as an extra if you wish to hire a wetsuit for the day.  
• Snorkel equipment hire is included however you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
• Some public holidays attract a public holiday surcharge.
• This experience is not suitable for children under 10 years of age.
• Experience is required and participants should be confident swimmers and physically fit to participate in this activity. Snorkelling and Medical Waivers are required to be completed for this activity.
